

Emma Muscat and Blas Cantó released their new single “La Stessa Lingua”, which means “The Same Language”, a couple of days ago. Now, the music video of the song was released. The single was composed by Alex Andrea Vella, Artemedra, Blas Cantó, Cheope, Marco Colavecchio and Mattia Cerri
Emma Muscat
Emma was born on November 27, 1999 in St. Julian’s, Malta. Her full name is Emma Louise Marie Muscat.
From a young age she took music lessons and she is knows how to play the piano. In 2016, she released her debut single. In 2018, she released her first EP under Warner Music Italy, which reached the 3rd place on the Italian charts. Later on the same year, she released a Christmas themed album.
In addition to her singing career, she is also a model.
Earlier this year, she competed in the Maltese national final for Eurovision, with the song “Out Of Sight”. Emma won both the jury and public voting, winning the right to represent her country in Eurovision. However, she decided to select a different song for the contest.
Her entry “I Am What I Am” was composed by Emma Muscat, Dino Medanhodzic, Julie Aagaard and Stine Kinck. The entry didn’t manage to qualify from the semifinal, placing 16th with 47 points.
Blas Cantó
Blas was born on 26 October 1991 in Murcia, Spain. His full name is Blas Cantó Moreno.
He rosed to fame as a member of the boy-band Auryn between 2009 and 2016. In 2017 he started his solo career. On September 2018 he released his first album “Complicado”, which reached the first place on the local charts. He is also signed to Warner Music Spain.
His relationship with Eurovision doesn’t start now. In 2004, when he was just thirteen years old he competed in the Spanish national final in order to represent his country to the junior edition of the contest. He reached the final of the national selection, but he lost to Maria Isabel, who eventually won for Spain – the first and only until today victory of Spain to the junior edition of the contest. In 2011, he tried again, but this time to the adult version as part of Auryn. The band reached the Spanish national but didn’t win.
In 2015 he competed in the music reality show “Your Face Sounds Familiar” and he won the whole show with 55% of the votes. His first solo single came out the same day as the final of YSFS and was titled “In Your Bed”. A year later he released his first solo single in Spanish. On 5 October 2019, it was announced by the Spanish public television that it was selected internally as that year’s Spanish representative. The song “Universo” was entirely in Spanish and the title means “Universe”. Composers of the song were Dan Hammond and Blas Cantó himself.
After the contest’s cancellation, it was announced that Blas will represent the country in the next edition of the contest. In the time between his two Eurovision participations he collaborated with the Spanish 2012 representative Pastora Soler and with the worldwide famous singer Kelly Clarkson.
In 2021, Spain hosted a national final with two songs in order to select Blas’ entry. The song “Voy A Quedarme”, which won composed by Blas Cantó, Leroy Sánchez, Daniel Ortega and Dan Hammond, won the national selection.
At Eurovision, Spain was pre-qualified to the final, where it placed 24th with 6 points.
