Athena Manoukian
Athena Manoukian was born in Athens, Greece on May 22, 1994 and she is a Greek-Armenian singer.
Her first public performance was in 2007 when she participated in a greek talent show. Back then she was just 13 years old. One year later, she competed in the Greek national final for the junior edition of the contest. Her entry finished 7th.
In 2011, she released her first single “Party Like A Freak”, which became an instant hit. In 2014, she released her single “XO”, which gained global attention. Three years later, she wrote the song “Palia Mou Agapi”, means “My Old Love”, for the Greek Eurovision winner Helena Paparizou.
Since 2015, she has expressed her interest in competing in Eurovision representing Armenia, Greece or Cyprus. In 2020, she won Depi Evratesil, the Armenian national selection. Her entry “Chain On You” was composed by DJ Paco and Athena herself. The revamped version was produced by Artem Valter.
Sadly, she didn’t manage to sing for Armenia, after the 2020 version of the contest was cancelled due to COVID-19 and in 2021 the country withdrew from ESC due to political issues. In 2022, Armenia returned at the contest, but Rosa Linn was internally selected to perform at the contest.
