Mariette was born on 23 January 1983, in Harplinge, Sweden. Her full name is Mariette Petra Carola Hansson. She rose to fame after she competed in the 2009 edition of the Swedish Idol. At the show she placed 4th. She has participated four times in Melodifestivalen and on all occasions has qualified directly to the final. Her most recent attempt was in 2020. She has released one studio album, one EP and a number of singles.
