Germany will hold a national final in order to select its next Eurovision representative!
The German public broadcaster announced that a national final will be used in order to find its next Eurovision participant. The applications are now open and will remain until November 28. Moreover, the broadcaster will also be able to add on the list of applicants artists and record labels. The entries that will be used for the national final will be selected by a jury.
This year will mark the first time that TikTok will be used for the national final. Users of the social network can apply through it. The jury will select the best of them and will let the public decide, which one will be added in the live final.
“Unser Lied” was the national selection process of Germany. It had been used since 2010 except between 2020-2021. The show had produced 4 Top-10 places, but also two last places! In 2022, the selection was renamed to “Germany 12 Points”, before returning in 2023 to its “Unser Lied” format.
