
Sweden’s national selection method continues this Saturday. The show will last 6 weeks – 4 Heats, one Semifinal (former Second Chance) and a Final. During the four Heats, we will see the 28 acts but only 12 will make it to the final.
Heat 4
Seven acts will try to win one of the two tickets for the Final. Those who will place third and fourth they’ll have a second chance on March 4, at the Semifinal.
1. Kiana – Where Did You Go
Kiana Blanckert is a young Swedish artist. She gained fame in 2021, when she reached the 2nd place in the Swedish version of Got Talent. Her Mello entry is her first in the national final.
2. Signe & Hjördis – Edelweiss
Signe and Hjördis Bornemark are sisters. They grew up in a musical family and it doesn’t come as a surprise that they are into music. Their participation is their first in the show.
3. Smash Into Pieces – Six Feet Under
Smash Into Pieces are a Swedish rock band that currently consists of Chris Adam Hedman Sörbye, Benjamin Jennebo, The Apocalypse DJ and Per Bergquist. They were formed in 2008 and they currently 7 studio albums. In addition, they have toured in both Europe and the USA. “Six Feet Under” will be their Melodifestivalen debut.
4. Mariette – One Day
Mariette was born on January 23, 1983, in Harplinge, Sweden. Her full name is Mariette Petra Carola Hansson. She rose to fame after she competed in the 2009 edition of the Swedish Idol, where she placed 4th. She has participated four times in Melodifestivalen and on all occasions has qualified directly to the final. Her most recent attempt was in 2020 with the song “For You”. She has released one studio album, one EP and a number of singles.
5. Emil Henrohn – Mera Mera Mera
Emil Henrohn is a musical – theatre artist. During the pandemic, he was forced to stay at home, away from theatre, thus he started releasing TikTok videos, which gained attention. Emil is currently getting ready for his first Mello participation.
6. Axel Schylström – Gorgeous
Axel Schylström was born on February 24, 1993, in Norrköping, Sweden. He rose to fame through his participation at the Swedish version of Idol in 2015, where he placed fourth. In 2017, he competed in Melodifestivalen with the song “När ingen ser”. His entry qualified to the Second Chance round, where it was eliminated.
7. Loreen – Tattoo
Loreen was born on October 16, 1983, in Stockholm, Sweden. Her full name is Lorine Zineb Noka Talhaoui and her parents are of Moroccan descendant. At the age of 21, she took part in the first season of the Swedish version of the Idol. She was eliminated on the 8th week, finishing 4th. After that, she took a break from the music and she worked behind the cameras as a producer and director.
In 2011, she competed in Melodifestivalen with the song “My Heart Is Refusing Me”, the song made it to the Second Round, but then it was eliminated. The year after, she tried again with “Euphoria” and won not only the national final but Eurovision too. In 2017, she competed again in melfest, but this time she was eliminated again in the Second Chance round.
