ESC 2023: Meet Monika Linkytė From Lithuania!

This year Lithuania selected Monika Linkytė as its representative. Monika Linkytė was born on June 3, 1992, in Gargždai, Lithuania.

In 2007, she made her first Eurovision attempt, by entering the Lithuanian national final for Junior Eurovision. In 2010, 2011 and 2012, she competed in the adult version of the national final and on all occasions she reached the final. The following year, she entered the Lithuanian version of The Voice, where she placed 2nd. In 2013 and 2014 she competed again in the national final, but it wasn’t until 2015, when she managed to win it, along with Vaidas Baumila. Their entry, “This Time”, reached the final of Eurovision, where it placed 18th.

After Eurovision. she released her debut studio album.

The singer planed for returning in the national final in 2022, but was unable to participate due to illness, thus withdrawing. This year, she returned and managed to win again, this time as a solo artist.

Her entry, “Stay”, was composed by Monika Linkytė, Krists Indrišonoks and Jānis Jačmenkins, having reached the 5th place in the local charts.

Lithuania will perform 15th in the second semifinal!
