A couple of hours ago, the second day of rehearsals began. The final 5 acts of the first semifinal, along with the first 5 acts of the second semi will perform for the first time on the Eurovision stage. Like last year, all the 1st rehearsals are closed to the press. However, people can watch a glimpse of the rehearsals through the official TikTok account of Eurovision.
Israel 🇮🇱
The first entry to perform today is Israel. Noa wears black trousers, which change during her performance into a pair of shorts along with a top and black boots. On stage, there are five dancers (3 males and 2 females) who wear black outfits with some white touches. Noa’s vocals sound amazing and are similar to the studio version of the song. There are some unicorn graphics on the background and we also get some pyros at the last part. We can also see some kind of a box, which seems like a light portal, where Noa most likely starts her performance. On TikTok, we can also watch a part of Noa dancing on her own, which is captivating, although there is some lack of light, but probably that’s due to the angle of the TikTok video.
Azerbaijan 🇦🇿
The second act for today is from Azerbaijan. TuralTuranX performs solo on stage. They wear suits, one green and one purple with some ’60s vibes. The two brothers are playing their guitars and it seems to be during their whole performance on a white base, the shape of which is a broken heart.
Czechia 🇨🇿
The next country is Czechia. All the performers are dressed in pink, with trousers and some tops. They also have long ponytails. The vocals sound amazing, with the singers being well synchronised for the choreography. Of course, there are no backing dancers on the stage because we already have six vocalists; there is no space for more people.
Netherlands 🇳🇱
The fourth act of the day is the Netherlands. Mia and Dion gives clearly some Common Linnets vibes (ESC 2014 The Netherlands). Both are dressed in black. Mia wears plain black trousers and a same colour top with some glittery touches. Dion’s outfit is pretty much the same but with more glitter on his pants and his top is a vest. The duo performs at the top of a black rotating platform, whilst smoke surrounds them. From the available pictures, it seems that the lights really work for the entry.
Finland 🇫🇮
The most anticipated entry of the day is next. Käärijä from Finland kept his green top with black trousers. I mean, he wears this outfit since the very beginning of the Eurovision season, thus being his trademark. I cannot probably imagine him in a different one. On stage, there are four dancers, all in pink outfits. The pallets of the national final are still in the picture, but this time there is a gigantic wooden box made out of them. Käärijä seems to begin his performance inside the box before moving on to the top of it. While he is there, there is a big graphic of him, like a shadow in the background. He also uses the same pink ropes as in the national final.
Denmark 🇩🇰
The next country is Denmark. Reiley is wearing a semitransparent top with glitter, along with plain pink trousers and white boots. His staging is based on a big prop, which represents three different types of rooms. Each room has a different colour – pink, green and red – and connects with each other through a door. Reiley changes rooms while he sings.
Armenia 🇦🇲
The next country is Armenia. Brunette is wearing a modern white dress, with high white boots. Her hair lay down. She starts her appearance by sitting in a long prop, which looks like a slope. At this time of the song, there is a projection on the prop of different colours. Later on, she stands up while the lights turn white.
Romania 🇷🇴
The next country is Romania. Theodor is dressed in an all-yellow outfit. He wears a yellow suit and a yellow pair of shorts too. He also wears black boots and as the Eurovision blog informed us a pair of Pikachu socks. Theodor starts his performance solo on stage. He sits on a chair and plays his guitar. At some point, Theodor stands up and a female dancer joins him on stage. Moreover, it seems that he unbuttons his suit and the dancer leaves her hand mark on his body. In the TikTok video, we can also notice some visuals in the background, showing Theodor and the dancer.
Belgium 🇧🇪
The next country is Belgium. Gustaph wears, as always, an eye-catching hat – this time is white. He is generally dressed in white and pink; with pink baggy pants and a white top, with a pink blouse inside. He also wears white boots. In contrast with his national final performance, he has three instead of two backing vocalists. The vocalists are dressed in all-black outfits. In addition, there is also a dancer on stage in a pink outfit. Gustaph starts singing at the top of a high prop stair. Later on, the dancer appears voguing, however, throughout the performance, the visuals of the background show people voguing too.
Cyprus 🇨🇾
The last country for today is Cyprus. Andrew wears a total black outfit. He sings solo on stage without any backing vocalists or dancers. The performance is based solely on Andrew’s voice and the background visuals. The provided material from EBU helps us understand the visuals change from water to fire during the performance. There are also some fire props and smoke. The smoke accompanies the water graphics, resembling a waterfall.
That is the end of the second day of rehearsals. Tomorrow, the rest of the semifinalists will perform for the first time in Liverpool. The eleven countries will be Estonia, Iceland, Greece, Poland, Slovenia, Georgia, San Marino, Austria, Albania, Lithuania and Australia.
