
There are a number of songs that was selected to represent some countries in the contest, but for a variety of reasons the songs never made it to the Eurovision stage. In this series of posts we are going to remind you some of these songs.
Sweden 1987
Sweden in 1987 original selected Lotta Engberg and her song “Fyra Bugg & En Coca Cola”. The EBU rejected the song for violating the contest’s rules. Under the article 1.2.2. of the contest no song can contain commercial messages of any kind. At the lyrics of the song there was multiple times the phrase “Coca Cola”. Lotta Engeberg decided to change the problematic lyrics and the title to “Boogaloo”.
