Portugal this year chose Elisa Silva as its 2020 representative. Elisa was born on 7 May 1999, on  Madeira, Portugal.

She showed her interest in music from a young age. By the age of 13, she had performed a couple of times on her island. In 2016, she started studying Jazz music and two years later she moved to Lisbon to continue to her studies. Last February she signed her first contract with Warner Music Portugal. The same time she participated in the Portuguese national final.

Her song “Medo De Sentir” was composed by Marta Carvalho, who invited Elisa to sing in Festival Da Canção.

Portugal was going to compete in the second half of the second semifinal.
