Our quote today is from the Spanish entry of 1973. The selected entry was “Eres Tú” by Mocedades.
Mocedades, which means “Youths”, is a Spanish band by Basque Country. In 1967, three sisters Amaya, Izaskun and Estibaliz Uranga formed a trio. Later, their brothers and friends joined and formed a group named Voces y Guitarras (“Voices and Guitars”). In 1969, Juan Carlos Calderór showed interest in the group and they renamed Mocedades. The group started with 8 members. Today, there is two formations of the group, one led by Izaskun Uranga and one by Javier Garay.
Como una promesa, eres tú, eres tú.
Como una mañana de verano.
Como una sonrisa, eres tú, eres tú.
Así, así, eres tú.
The quote is in Spanish as the rest of the song and it means “You’re just like a promise, only you, only you. Just like a precious summer morning. Your smile is so honest, only you, only you. So perfect, only you.”
