Darin Zanyar was born on June 2, 1987, in Stockholm, Sweden. His parents were of Kurdish origin. He participated in the first season of Idol in 2004 and placed second. In 2010, he participated in Melodifestivalen and placed 4th. He has released 9 studio albums, 7 of which topped the Swedish charts.
