This year, Spain is represented by Miki. Miki was born on the 6th of January 1996 in Barcelona, Spain. His full name is Miguel “Miki” Núñez Pozo.

Miki, he plays the guitar and the piano. Before he came into the public’s attention, he studied and got a degree in Primary education teaching.

In 2018, he auditioned for the 10th season of the Spanish music reality show Operación Triunfo and he managed to be 1 of the 18 artists that made it to the live shows. On the show, he made it through the semifinal but he was then eliminated, finishing 6th. Later, he was 1 of the 13 Operación Triunfo contestants that performed in a special show in order to represent their country in Tel Aviv. Miki was given three songs, two of which was performed in the Eurovision gala. His song “Nadie Se Salva” – duet with Natalia Lacunza – finished third, whilst his solo song “La Venda”, won the whole event, beating even the odds favourite.

The song “La Venda” is entirely in Spanish and the title means “The Blindfold”.

Spain is prequalified in the Final, as being a part of the Big-5. Although, Spaniards are able to vote in the first semifinal.
