This year, the United Kingdom is represented by Michael Rice. Michael was born on 25th October 1997, in Hartlepool, England.
Michael came into public’s attention in 2014, when he auditioned for the 11th season of the X-Factor UK. Sadly his journey into the show lasted only until the Bootcamp stage. Last year, he attempted once again to compete in a music reality show, although this time chose to audition for the first season of “All Together Now”. Not only he made it to the finals, but he also won the whole event.
This January was announced as one of the sic acts that will battle in order to win the British ticket for Tel Aviv. Michael won Eurovision: You Decide – the national selection – with the song “Bigger Than Us”. The song is co-written by John Lundvik, the Swedish representative.
Michael is currently in the studio for his first EP.
The United Kingdom is prequalified in the Final, as being a part of the Big-5. Although, British are able to vote in the second semifinal.
