This year Azerbaijan was going to be represented by Efendi. The singer was born on 17 April 1991, in Baku, Azerbaijan. Her full name is Samira Azer gizi Efendiyeva, but she is known as Samira Efendi or just Efendi.

She has participated in three different competitions in her country, since 2009. Her most notable work was her participation in the Azeri version of The Voice in 2015, where she placed third. She has represented twice her country in international singing competitions in Kazakhstan, one of which she placed third. In 2019 she released three singles.

Her song “Cleopatra” was composed by Luuk van Beers, Alan Roy Scott and Sarah Lake.

The song was going to compete in the second half of the first semifinal.

Efendi is announced that she will represent her country at the next edition of the contest.
