This year Germany was going to be represented by Ben Dolic. Ben was born on 4 May 1997, in Ljubljana, Slovenia. His full name is Benjamin Dolić.

Ben first competed in the Slovenian version on got talent at a young age, where he reached the semi-finals. In 2016, he took part in EMA, the Slovenian national final, as a member of D Base; the entry didn’t make it to the Superfinal round. At the age of eighteen, he moved with his family to Switzerland. His debut solo single was released in 2017. A year later, he auditioned for the German version of The Voice, where he reached the second place! Earlier this year he was internally selected as the next German participant.

His entry “Violent Thing” was composed by Borislav Milanov, Peter St. James, Dag Lundberg, Jimmy Thorén and Connor Martin.

The song was prequalified to the final, but Germans would be able to vote in the first semifinal.
