There are a number of songs that was selected to represent some countries in the contest, but for a variety of reasons the songs never made it to the Eurovision stage. In this series of posts we are going to remind you some of these songs.

Austria 1990

Austria in 1990 original selected Duett and their song “Das Beste”. However, the entry was disqualified for having released prior to it’s participation in the national final. The song had been performed by the same artists in 1988 at the heats od the German national final. The eventual runner up Simone Stelzer represented the country to Yugoslavia with the song “Keine Mauern mehr”.
