There are a number of songs that was selected to represent some countries in the contest, but for a variety of reasons the songs never made it to the Eurovision stage. In this series of posts we are going to remind you some of these songs.

Germany 1976

Germany in 1976 was going to be represented by Tony Marshall and his song “Der Star” to sent in the Netherlands. Despite winning the national final the entry was replace by the second placer Les Humphries Singers with the song “Sing Sang Song”. Tony Marshall’s song was discovered that have been performed to public prior of the national final. At Eurovision, the second placer Les Humphries Singers placed 15th with 12 points.
