Finland 2022: UMK 2022 – Record Viewership For The Final!

UMK’s final took place yesterday!

UMK – Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu – the Finnish national selection returned this year for the 10th consecutive year. The winner of the show were The Rasmus with their song “Jezebel”.

Today, the viewing figures of the show were announced. A total of 1,9 million people watch parts of the show, whilst the show has an average viewership of 1 million people. The viewing figures are higher than 2021 by 200,000 people – 1,7 million people watched UMK in 2021 – and that’s make the show the most watched in the history of UMK. Moreover, it was received 14,000 more votes than last year – a total of 152,402 votes.

The Rasmus – “Jezebel”

The Rasmus is a Finnish rock band that was in 1994, in Helsinki. Its current formation consists of Lauri Ylönen (vocals), Eero Heinonen (bass), Aki Hakala (drums) and Emilia Suhonen (guitar). The band gained international success with its 2003 single “In The Shadows”. Throughout the years, they have released 9 studio albums – all of which charted in Finland – and they have sold 5 million albums worldwide.
