Melodifestivalen 2024 submission closed and number of applications announced!

The submissions of Melfest 2024 has closed and the organisers announced the number applicants received. A total of 2624 songs. That number is huge comparing it with other national finals/internal selections, but that is not a record for the national selection. For comparison, last year, the number was up for approximately 200 songs, and, for sure, it is not even close to the record of 3852 (in 2011).

The organisers has a lot of work to do and from all of these only 30 songs will manage to be selected for the shows.

We remind you that the format of Melodifestivalen will change, with an increase of the competing entries from 28 to 30, but also the scrap of the second chance round.
