Romania will select its 2022 artist through a national final – Selecția Naționala. Selecția Naționala has been used almost all the times that the country has participated.

Today, it was announced that Fabi, one of the semifinalists, withdrew from the national selection. The reason for his withdrawal is that he has been tested positive for COVID-19. Now, 44 artists remain at the national selection.

Public will be able to vote its favourites in an online voting from February 5 to 10. A total of 20 songs will advance to the live semifinal, with 5 being selected by the public and 15 by the jury. On February 12 the semifinal will take place. A jury will select the 10 artist that will qualify to the final. The final will take place on March 12 and the winner will be selected by both a jury and public voting.
