Bambie Thug was a guest on last Friday’s Late Late Show.
Bambie Thug the Irish representative at the Eurovision Song Contest returned last night at the Irish talk show, after their victory on the same programme earlier this year. At the begging of their appearance they performed a slow down version of their Eurovision entry “Doomsday Blue”. The song didn’t resembled at all the original one, but the excitement of the audience is the same.
Bambie Thug showed to the public their amazing vocal abilities.
After their performance, they answered a couple of few questions about her Eurovision journey so far, along with her views on the hot topic of this year’s contest; the Israeli participation.
“I stand with anyone doing the boycott. I think if I wasn’t in the competition, I would also be boycotting. There are a lot of moving parts. At the end of the day, without the group of us who is pro-Palestine, it is less competition for the other side to win and it’s less of solidarity there. Obviously it’s incredibly heavy and I am extremely behind everybody. […] We all meet up* and had chats about it and we just couldn’t stay silent on the matter. At the end of the day, it’s the EBU who has to make the decision, and, unfortunatly in my eyes, they’re not making the right decision. So yeah, it’s bitter-sweet, the whole thing.”
*Here Bambie refers to the common statement that was made by a part of the artists competing in the contest, in order to ask from the EBU to take some measures against Israel’s participation at the contest.
