Latvia this year chose Samanta Tīna as its 2021 representative. Samanta Tīna was born on March 31, 1989 in Tukums, Latvia, he real name is Samanta Poļakova.

Samanta has tried many times to represent her country to the contest. Since 2012 she has competed in 6 editions of the Latvian national final, winning at her sixth attempt, but coming close in 2012, 2013 and 2014. Besides her country, she has also tried to represent Lithuania to the contest two times. In 2012 she competed in the Lithuanian version of The Voice. Her 2020 entry “Still Breathing” won the Latvian national final and therefore was going to compete in Eurovision. After the contest’s cancellation, Samanta was internally selected for 2021.

Between her two Eurovision entries she released 4 singles – one in English and three in Latvian.

Her entry this year “The Moon Is Rising” is composed by Samanta Tīna, Aminata Savadogo (Latvia 2015) and Oskars Uhaņs.

Latvia is going to compete 15th in the second semifinal.
